Nomadic Power has developed a revolutionary concept for converting road traffic to electric vehicles – intended to achieve savings of 75% in total costs and resource consumption.
The core element of this concept is the idea that not all future e-vehicles need to be equipped with huge batteries enabling long-distance transport. Nomadic Power has developed large batteries that can be hitched up when necessary for driving long distances, for the first time allowing future e-vehicles to be equipped with relatively small and economical drive batteries. In step two, autonomous driving AutoNomads can be ordered automatically while driving on the highway.
An AutoNomad will promptly approach the customer electric vehicle and will follow closely for a while – recharging the traction battery of the electric vehicle by inductive coupling. AutoNomad solutions will be developed for passenger vehicles and trucks.
Nomad Mobile Batteries
Autobahn rental
Nomadic Power will offer Nomads for rental at major arterial roads across the country. Owners of electric vehicles will have the option to rent rather than buy range-extending power packages. Drivers will ‘hook up’ a Nomad at the first Autobahn station, drop it off at a station in the destination area, and then have the freedom and “lightness” of a small car in the target city. Nomadic Power started with developing hitched-up mobile batteries and is currently working on autonomous driving batteries – the AutoNomads.
Home and mobile energy
The Nomad is a mobile battery “on wheels” for energy storage, fast charging, and long-distance traveling. The owner of a home can make efficient use of his/her Nomad by using it in a dual role: While “parked” in the home owner’s garage, the Nomad will serve the function of photovoltaic energy storage and safe backup power for the home, with additional “smart home” functionality. For the weekend, Nomad can be attached to the owner’s e-car for a long weekend trip. An 85 kWh Nomad is capable of taking a small electric car up to 500 kilometers.

Nomads support all standard industry interfaces for fast charging (CHAdeMO, SAE, CCS). Mobile Fast Charging: manufacturers of Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) are able to use Nomads for assisting stranded motorists whose electric power has gone to zero. Stationary Fast Charging: the unique advantage for the use of Nomads for stationary fast charging is the fact that with Nomads there are no cumbersome infrastructure provisions required that might require approvals.
